Cracovians never miss an opportunity to open a cafe in places most other people would never dream of, and Ratuszowa is a fine example, housed as it is in the old basement of the Ratusz (keep) in the Rynek. Not only have they managed to fit in a cafe-cum-restaurant, but there's also an occasional cabaret theatre - Scena Pod Ratuszem - in true Polish drink-and-culture style. In the summer, the whole shebang spills out onto the Rynek itself, and flowers under a panoply of umbrellas. On Saturdays and Sundays expect plenty of live music to accompany the beers and coffee. |
