Horai Restaurant

|
The attractive Wolnica Square has a wealth of untapped potential, but it looks like Horai restaurant is finally leading the way in rejuvenating this neglected corner of Kazimierz. Horai will be dishing up gastronomic delights from three different culinary galaxies - Thailand, China and Japan, the latter being Sushi. Thai options include Chicken satay and a number of curries, both vegetarian and meaty, whilst Cantonese dishes represent the country of Confucius. Catering is available as is a takeaway service. |

And the winners are...
Forget about the Oscars, these are the awards that count in Krakow, year on year.
We refer of course to the Cracow-life Best Places accolad...

We stepped in late on a weekday afternoon and perused a rather extensive menu. They appear to offer Japanese and Thai dishes, along with some Cantonese grill dishes. There are a lot of Sushi offerings but many have mayonnaise or cream which I absolutely detest in a sushi. We settled on two soups for starters - miso and Tom Ka Gai. The miso soup lacked subtlety while the Tom Ka Gai was an odd cross between yellow curry and a soup. It was also sweetish in taste - very disappointing. The sushi we ordered were average fare - not bad but nothing to rave about. We will not be going here again. On the plus side, we forgot out camera there, and they returned it the next afternoon when we came looking.
