Miod Malina Restaurant

Miod Malina (Honey Raspberry) has snapped up an enviable position on the Royal Way. And with a location like this, one might wonder whether it is in fact a honey-trap for hungry passers by. However, the restaurant has built a loyal following, and the place is always packed. A cosy, rustic decor sets the tone, finished with warming yellow hues. The chef serves delicious dishes from the land of Leonardo, and these are also backed up by a wine-list from the boot-shaped country.

Miod Malina was recommended to us by a local. What a great recommendation; the food was excellent, service was excellent and fair prices. So good we went back the following night.

my wife and i booked a table at this brilliant restaurant on reviews from this site, we were very very happy we did ! even though the place was busy on a wed night in dec the service was impeccable and the food was even better ! i strongly recommend the polish sausage and egg soup in a bread bowl (one of the nicest dishes i have ever eaten-and i used to be a chef !) and for mains we shared the meat platter- i challenge anyone to finish it though !, amazing food in a great atmosphere, will definately return.

A very busy and noisy place where reservation appears essential. The food was very good and there was certainly plenty of it, but the attention to detail was lacking when compared to other places. The service was friendly and polite but not as good as at other restaurants. Our table wasn't made up when we were seated - the cutlery was almost thrown at us in a basket. Paper napkins not cloth. It wasn't as good a dining experience as we had enjoyed at other similarly priced restaurants during our stay.

Got to be the best food in town. Great atmosphere top quality food but still around £25 per head for two huge courses abd drinks.

What a great restaurant! We went here on our first night in Krakow and it was definitely our best meal. The waiter was full of helpful advise and managed to change all of my food choices to his own recommended ones. I'm glad he did because the food was wonderful. Lovely atmosphere too. Have to book though.

Read the reviews on this restaurant. We went their the first night and enjoyed it, so much so we ate there 3 nights out of 4 and had 1 lunch. Staff very friendly, good atmosphere, staff spoke good English. Good choice of menu and not overly expensive. Would definitely go back there if we visit Krackow again. You do need to book most of the time, which is a good sign.

outstanding restaurant - only problem these days is it is constantly packed with tourists. book in advance, or go for lunch for a quiet meal. dishes are, most of all, beautifully thought out, and well executed. let's hope cooking for tourists won't let them start thinking us locals will stop noticing if the quality goes down...

Lovely place, read the reviews here and booked in advance, a must as it was packed when we went on a Friday night. Not only a great range of food, but also a atomspheric restaurant and attentive staff.

What a wonderful discovery! I had read the reviews and decided to book in advance through cracowlife and it turned out to be a great idea since they were completely booked that night as every other night. The staff is very attentive and helpful, plus; they all speak English. I had the lambchops and my husband had tournedos; it was exquisite! We returned the following day and we were surprised to see that they had a wonderful lunch menu at a great price that we had in the garden. And again the service and food were excellent. Highly recommended and by far our favorite place in town!

Having read all the reviews on this site, we were very anxious to try this gem out! They were fully booked on Monday night and we were lucky to get a table on Tuesday night last. The food is very good, but the service was pretty bad. It was a constant battle to get anyone to notice us, we had to ask for water three times and got none in the end. There seemed to be some people working really hard and then others just walking around, passing tables where people had obviously finished their meal and didn't even bother to take up the plates. There was a man walking up and down (he could have been the owner) and my husband literally plonked the plate in front of him, so that he had no choice but to take it (he didn't come back for the rest of the plates and we sat and sat with dirty dishes in front of us). The couple at the next table waited fifteen minutes for someone to take their order and with that, they had to stand up and grab someone! My main course of steak was fabulous and my husband's pork ribs were delicious. The panacotta dessert wasn't good though and we left when we could grab anyone to pay!! The problem I think was that a big party of people came in and the whole place seemed to stop and look after them. Maybe the lunchtime would better, but I wouldn't be inclined to go there again. As it was our last night in Krakow, we wanted to go for a really special meal, as earlier we went to a Chopin concert in main market square, which was fabulous, and it was a shame that this restaurant couldn't meet our expectations.

I've lived in on and off KRK for seven years. This is my favorite place in town. I strongly reccommend the steaks with goat cheese, raspberry, and horseradish.

As others have pointed out here, without a reservation, you're unlikely to get a seat on weekends.

I have been to this beautiful city twice and eaten at the place 4 time it is that good. Myself and my partner have tried a number of different dishes and every tiome they are fantastic. The value for money is great and the wine list out classes any of the serounding restaurants. As has already be advised BOOK IN ADVANCE, They are really helpful just pop in lunch time and they alwasy try thier best to fit you in.

I can't really fault this place! The service was friendly and the only time we had to wait was to get our bill at the end, but it was also a very busy weekend evening so that's understandable. Several of us ordered several different dishes, and everyone was satisfied with their meals. The portions are quite large (especially the delicious salad with chicken) but the prices are reasonable for Poland, and for such good food. I'll definitely come back here again!

I'm the third Danielle writing, but I guess I was luckier than my "homonymes". My husband and I were seated immediately, served in a normal waiting time and the food was very nice. The waitresses were very sweet and spoke good english. It was a wednesday late lunch out of tourist season, so maybe that helped ;-)

After living in Krakow for 8 months I know that in general the service over here is not up to the standard of other european countries or America in fact. However after standing like a lemon for 5 mins my friend and I were finally seated only to wait 15 mins for our drinks and 30 for our starters, we went so far as to ask for the bill when the waiter brought our main courses just to ensure that we received it before we hit retirement age.
This restaurant had come highly recommended and I felt it a great shame that they should overstretch the staffing and thereby ruin the dinig experience.

Restaurant looked lovely, but unfortunately I wasn’t impressed with their staff. I wanted a table for one and was left standing while they seated 2 couples separately who had come in behind me without reservations. Then when I asked what was happening the waiter spoke to a more senior person who obviously told him not to give me a table. he said sorry and tried to walk away , I asked was this because I only wanted a table for 1 , he said sorry again and walked off. So I just left. Obviously they get more money with 2 at a table but I’ve never had this happen before. Not impressed.

PLACE WAS SO BUSY GOT TURNED AWAY AND ADVISED TO CALL BACK AN HOUR LATER.Maitre'd kept me a table and everything was superb. A word of warning - BOOK IN ADVANCE.

We were there in February 2007. We only tried 8 or so restaurants in the city - in the old town and the Jewish quarter. Overall this one was the best for its food, the ambiance,the price and the service. The food choice was perfect. All the gambit of Polish dishes - generously and very well cooked - plus the apparently ever-necessary Italian cuisine. It is always full, but on one occasion, they took our name and told us to come back in an hour. They had held a table for us. There are so many places to eat that it seems a shame to limit yourself to just one but do try this one first to set a benchmark

Definately make reservations for this place. I was there last night and they were turning people away as the restaurant was completely packed.

We were a group of 8 and had a main waiter who was fantastic and 2 helping him (who could have been better)

Food was good, beautiful presentation and very delicious.

I ordered the carpaccio, it was great althought rather than grated parmesan I was expecting shaved parmesan but still it tasted wonderful.

Their baked apple cake it so delicious and the panna cotta is excellent.

I'd go again!

We ate here twice, 11 - 16 Feb 07. Everything about this restaurant was perfect. It was the only one that was packed each time, although we didn't have to wait long for a table, neither did it feel busy once you were seated. The ambience is very pleasing, The service was exactly fast enough, the food selection by Polish standards, was very good, the quality was the best we experienced and the prices...........well, we desperately tried to spend more than GBP30 in total, and couldn't! Possible some of the pizza/pasta places were good as well, but we didn't see the point of trying them. Maybe it would have been different if we'd had picky kids with us. At least try here first and use it as a yardstick.

Good ambient, cheap and nice atmosphere...that's all. I waited more then 30 minutes for a poor pizza and the local was almost empty. Also the Polish food was very turistic (My wife is Polish and she said this!). Not the worst restaurant in town but....

Massive selection of Polish and Italian fayre. Book in advance to ensure a table. Amazingly cheap for what you get. Spicy potato pancakes in mushroom sauce for starter were great.

Just back from Krakow Nov 06. This was our favourite restaurant. All the dishes were excellent. Wide choice on menu. You will want to lick the plate.

We ate at the Miod Malina in October 2006 and it was a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and staff warm and friendly. It has a terrific ambience with a roaring fire at the the top end of the room. Very popular and saw quite a lot of people being turned away. I would say a reservation is a must.
