Miod Malina Restaurant

Poselska is one of the prettiest streets in the Old Town and spare lots here are like gold dust. Restaurateurs have been quick to spot the charms of this laid back corner and with the arrival of Miod Malina (Honey Raspberry) it looks like the last of the lots has been snapped up. Well, they've got the location, now it's time for the chef to see if he can work some magic. In the Polish sphere, house specialities include Duck in a plum and mushroom sauce, as well as the much-loved pierogi. It's a relaxed kind of place where you can also drop in for a coffee, glass of wine or beer. The decor has a rustic feel, with cosy yellows and reds setting the tone. Prices won't break the bank. All in all, plenty of potential.

two weeks ago we spent an excellent saturday evening in miod malina restaurant! it was ful but the ambience so nice, cameral and friendly. The polish food we tasted was great! the golobki and cotes de porc were fantastic. we don't speak very well english but it was not a problem. Very polite staff speaking french :)higly recomended!!!!!

There is the most impolite manager (women) I have ever met! We reserved one table and she didn't care about our reservation. She was so impolite and rude. I don't recommend anybody this place.

This restaurant doesnt respect its customers !! $$$$ is what they are looking for.

I went there to have dinner few times in a row, allways all tables are reserved.

This evening the same, four people after me stated they didnt have a reservation and were accomodated. The manager didnt care when i told her about it. A restaurant that doesnt respect its customers isnt worth a recommendation at !!!!

distinctly average. soup was served luke warm and was nothing special. duck was overcooked and again bland. service was fine. on the whole overpriced and pretentious like so mnay things in the old town.

Beautiful meal. Starter to die for - wild mushrooms. Both had beef and shared portion of apple dumplings. Thanks to this site we found a great place !

I've lived in Krakow for over 5 years and eat out a lot. For me too it is too hot and too jam packed. The food is average. There are many better places to go.

Have to agree with some comments below, it looks like we were in at the same time as yourselves,we also found it very hot, also very claustraphobic, however i thought the food was good, the waiter was very helpful, We finished the night off with the platter of vodkas,outstanding.

Sorry to say that I didn't have the best ever experience here. The restaurant was overheated considering the tables are very very close together (every time my boyfriend wanted to use the toilet, he had to get the personal occupying the adjacent next table to stand up!) and the food was so-so, considering that you are paying the equivalent of £15 for a main which doesn't include potatoes or vegetables. The borscht was standard borscht (very difficult to mess up). My bigos was not cooked for long enough (there was a lot of watery tomato and not a lot of meats, flavourless mushrooms). My boyfriend's duck was very dry and the plum sauce drowned out the meat. Wish we'd just stuck to the borscht really! At the end of the meal it was so hot and stuffy in the restaurant I was actually nauseous and had to leave swiftly, not the best way to end a mail.

We went to Miod Malina on Thursday 4th February, the restaurant was`really busy & thankfully we had booked a table. A chilly cold snowy evening ~ we loved the cosy warm table at a window, the staff were professional & friendly. Beautiful decor flowers & candlelight added to the ambiance. We drank Polish beer vodka & wine with fresh breads (all very nice)~ we ordered the selection of Polish meats with sauces for 2 people with potatoes cabbage & beetroot, this meal was traditional & tasty. Overall this was the best dinner during our 5 night stay. I would really recommend, don't miss the opportunity to experience this excellent restaurant whilst in Krakow. It is definitely in my top 20 favourite restaurants for good food & wine.

We went here because it was noted in the guides as Michelin recommended. The food was exceptionally well-cooked rustic Polish fare, the service was probably the friendliest we received and the meal one of the best of our stay.
The polish menus don't differ much around the square so it's worth shopping around to find somewhere that's great value for money with warm ambience where you know you'll get a good quality meal.
Highly recommended.

Had a really good meal there on 20/7.
Had the Polish soup for starter (rye soup with white sausage and egg) and for main course I had the duck.
Both were excellent.
A very busy restaurant, so I'd suggest you book first.
We passed at about 5pm and got a booking for samne night for 830pm

Very good food, very good service. We tried typical polish food, and I have a feeling that they are even better with international food.

Took a party of 10 here on 12 Jan 09 being a Mon was no need to book but it was suitably busy with international and locals eating. Excellent ambiance and staff as others have recorded. Food too was very good with the soups in the bread bowls very popular. Excellent fish (sander), super lamb chops and duck. All were impressed. Suspect popular with tourists owing to central location but was pleased that it has not lost itself. Not the cheapest but certainly still better than in UK and better value for money too. Highly recommended for that special meal and occasion.

just returned ate here twice the first time was a friday night , glad we booked on line-very busy but the prestenation was good, house wine excellant overall feel of the place was a good , all staff happy to help you even the locals eating their allowed us to ask what they were eating, cost was very good considering we ate 3 courses, coffee, wine and beer at £25 per head

Personally i loved the place (but i can't understand the people saying its the best restaurant the tested yet, it sounds completly crazy).

To be very honnest i enjoyed the ambiance more than the meal. But still the meal was good.

Definitly a restaurant to test if you're in Krakow.

Wow! probably the best restaurant I've been to, I had the Carpaccio for starter, it dissolved on my tounge and I'm sad to say I'll probably never get another one as good unless I go back there! The mushroom soup served in bread bowls is absolutely divine, we ate there twice during our stay and it was the highlight of the trip. Staff were lovely and the surroundings and atmosphere inside made for the perfect night. Oh, and the traditional Polish beer was delicious!

I must say, this really is the best restaurant in the city - especially if you don't want to pay London prices for great food. Last time I went all out and paid about 150 zloty for 2, but that included starter, soup, main dish, wine, water, and dessert, so all in all a person can still eat well here for about 50 zloty a head. I had the honey ribs, they were fantastic and melted in my mouth - delicious! The service was far better than most restaurants in Krakow, as usual. Highly recommended, but make a reservation!

On my first visit to Krakow, Miod Malina couldn't have been better. The menu was brilliant as was the service.

Really excellent Restaurant. Everything was perfect, even when they were full and very busy in the evening. Our food was very very good, that's why we decided to come back there and have a supper almost every evening during our stay in Krakow. I can recommend it for all foreigners.

Excellent food, english speaking staff and great atmosphere!!! Unfortunately we went there on our last night in Krakow. Hope we'll visit Miód Malina again :-)

Enjoyed our two meals at Miod Malina (one lunch and one evening meal). Busy, with a great atmosphere, attentive English-speaking staff, good food, reasonable price.

Miod Malina has very reasonable prices for the standard of the food. They have some creative spins on traditional Polish dishes, and some of the meat plates are the most well-made in the city - the pork especially!

I can't really fault this place! The service was friendly and the only time we had to wait was to get our bill at the end, but it was also a very busy weekend evening so that's understandable. Several of us ordered several different dishes, and everyone was satisfied with their meals. The portions are quite large (especially the delicious salad with chicken) but the prices are reasonable for Poland, and for such good food. I'll definitely come back here again!

This place was great! Bustling, appealing decor, great service, and wonderful food. 9 of us couldn't fault it when we visited on 14 October. You definitely would be advised to book especially for evenings at weekends. The food varies from delicious traditional polish dishes to pizza. We would all definitely visit again. Excellent all round and value for money as a bonus!

Excellant traditional Polish food which was well presented and tasty.Very cosy atmosphere. We found the service to be very good and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will certainly consider eating here when we next visit.

On our first trip to Poland, we had a great time and the restaurant topped it off. The food was amazing and the four of us tried a variety of dishes from; pierogi, lasagna, potato pancakes, and soup. It will be the first place we visit when we return to Krakow

Splendid meal - booked they day before as there were 8 of us - all had different starters and mains all were very happy only minor issue was that the food was hot but the plates were cold other then that can’t fault it !

Booked a table here for 8.00 on a Friday evening and the place was buzzing with hardly any empty tables,
As this was our first visit to Poland we tried the pierogi.They are OK but not really restaurant food, try them from the street stalls for a lot less money!
The meat dishes are good with nice sauces but you will need some accompanying vegetables at extra cost.
The fried potatoes though were to die for.

Très bon restaurant, nous y avons mangé une excellente sole servie sur lit d'épinards et de champignons. Je vous le recommande vivement. De plus le personnel est bien sympathique. Nous étions à Cracovie à Pâques 2007.

One of my favorite places to eat while in Poland. Wonderful decor & Fantastic food!

We had just arrived in Krakow and didn't know where to eat and stumbled upon this pretty little restuarant by chance. Although full to the brim the pleasant waitress said we could wait for a table. About 15 mins later we got a table for four (two adults/two boys 10 and 12). The menu was a mixture of traditional Polish food and Italian. I have to be honest, I was never bothered about eating anything other than Polish food as I can get plenty of good European stuff at home but as this was our boys first foray into Polish cuisine we were fairly cautious. We started with potato panckes and sour cream - delicious - and I had a plate of mixed wild mushrooms in cream. Wow!! I love the Polish obsession with mushrooms and the tastes were so rich; perhaps a tad too much of the cream so the consistency was more like a thick soup. No problem. The boys then had soup with bread whilst my hubby and I tucked into a meat platter for two with plain potatoes (coated in butter and dill - scrumptious) and a miseria salad - one of my childhood favourites. It was good stuff. We finished off with an icecream concoction for the boys which they loved and cheese cake for adults which was possibly a tad too dry for my liking. All in all, a good quality meal for a good price (at current exchange rates we in the UK can eat like Kings!). We also had some of the local Polish beer. It was a good start to the holiday and I would certainly recommend eating here.

HI TO EVERYONE AT THE RESTUARANT WE WERE IN YOUR RESTURANT ON ARRIVAL IN KRACOW ON SAT 29 AUG 06 ,we were very impressed on entry nice aura ,decor,the food was excellent as was the service. we hope to retun sometime before xmas.
