Wisniowy Sad

|
Wisniowy Sad, 'The Cherry Orchard' is a dainty little hideaway in the heart of the Old Town. Chekhov fans won't have much trouble in guessing the flavour of this spot. On a snow-swept winter's day you can warm yourself with classic Russian soups such as borscht or Solianka. Blinis with caviar (not forgetting a round of ice cold vodkas) will soon have you feeling like Count Vronsky, and there is a good selection of other Russky dishes. Find it down the atmospheric old corridor at Grodzka 33. |

Ambience so thick you could cut it. I thought I was on stage at "The Cherry Orchard". Excellent way to end a hectic day and begin a romantic evening with a lover. Mine ordered Siberian ravioli and I ordered catfish. With starters of herring and mushrooms, we had plenty to share so we each had a taste of several authentic Russian dishes. Service was impeccable, though staff seemed timid due to language differences. Highly recommend.
