Orient Ekspres

I first came to Orient Ekspres in 2007. The served a wonderful schnitzel that I had on several visits. The schnitzel wasn't on the menue this summer, but the food is still very good and the staff is excellent. This is one of my "go to" restaurants in Krakow.

wij verbleven vier dagen in Krakow en voor mij was dit het beste restaurant waar we gegeten hebben, aan te raden dessert is de appeltaart, nooit zoiets lekker gegeten :), bediening ongelooflijk vriendelijk, echter klein minpuntje,was de temperatuur, wij gaan er zeker terug!! ( als't wat warmer is lol )

Visited Cracow 14 times in three years now.Love this friendly resturant and deffinatley agree the best peppered steak in town.Great for that special evening meal or why not try eating at lunchtime top service.Will be back again soon :-)

Best meal we've had in Krakow so far. One of the few places here which knows how to do a really rare steak. Good service, good atmosphere and excellent value for money.

Having read the previous reviews I was disappointed. The starters and deserts were excellent. The main courses were not great.

I ate here on 23/03/2007 with a very large group of family and friends.The interior is very nice and the service was excellent.The food was good without being spectacular.I would certainly recommend dining here.

A really quirky restaurant. Right off the main square. The food and service was excellent. Price was about medium for Cracow. Ideal place for a romantic meal for 2.

Over our 4 night stay in Krakow, this was our favourite meal. We weren't offered a table in the 'Train' even though it did not fill up. The waitress was really friendly with excellent English. A delicious bottle of 2004 Californian Zinfandel @ £8 washed down Spinach Soup, Perch (a first for me) & Salmon. The desserts were equaly delicious, especially the 'black & white' chocolate pancakes. It was a quiet evening in February 07 so more diners may have enlived the atmosphere, but perhaps at the expense of the service which was just the right balance of informal/formal.

We didn't book so didn't get a table in the 'train' bit - but no matter; the atmosphere is great even in the back room - slightly conspiratorial because it's kept quite dark with maps and various historical curios on the walls. We went for the Polish food and were not disappointed. Gorgeous soups (my little boy -10- particularly liked the zurek) and some of the best pierogi and golabki. The pork I had was lovely with the tastiest potatoes (I love the way the Polish do their potatoes anyway). Miseria salad good. The two-tone chocoloate pancakes were divine! All in all a good eating experience (apart from an American who made a BIG fuss that his meat was not cooked properly). Reservation recommended if you want a place in the more 'interesting' bit.

Generous portions, discreet but friendly service, and very, very tasty, properly-cooked food. It's not exactly La Maison aux Quat' Saisons, but for my money this is one of the best little restaurants in Cracow. Children will be entertained by all the theme restaurant knick-knacks so you adults will actually get a chance to enjoy your meal. Great value too.

When I went there they had run out of the 3 dishes that we had asked for, we consequently left but looked lovely though.

Really outstanding pepper steak - probably the best I have found in Cracow! The decor's not bad and the staff helpful. If you want to try somewhere a little different, I'd highly recommend this one.
