Although you can find some glorious oddities lurking on unsuspecting corners, Kazimierz is rather short on restaurants with a contemporary touch. The newly opened Pepe Rosso is aiming to fill that gap, You'll find it right in the heart of Kazimierz, below the smart Karmel hotel. The restaurant has been decked out in a light and elegant style, wiith a few rustic touches here and there. Besides the ground floor, the owners have also commandeered the attractive medieval cellars. On the menu you'll find a host of classic Italian dishes, all elegantly delivered. Worth a try.

My boyfriend and I ate here on a whim after the restaurant recommended to us by our hotel was full. We were pleasently surprised. The vaulted ceiling in the basement dining area was lovely and added a little something extra to the experience. No complaint with regard service either. The food was very good. Our shared meat and cheese platter was huge and really tasty. We both had fillet steak as a main, mine a perfect bloody medium rare and his a very satisfying medium well. I would definately recommend this restaurant.

I've just come back from Krakow with my husband and had read reviewers comments about Pepe Rosso. Our Hotel was just around the corner so we decided to go there on our first evening. It was absolutely beautiful. It was a Saturday night and very busy and we sat in the basement which was truly a treat. Its just like being in a cave and really lovely. The food was gorgeous. We had a starter and main course and also a bottle of wine which came to £38.00. We enjoyed it so much we went again before we came home. A fabulous recommendation, go try it yourself, you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a 'scouse' couple we met on the street who are now our friends after our visit to Cracow!
Dishes arrived at the table as they were described on the Menu, piping hot and the service was efficient, friendly and very welcoming. Book ahead as I'm sure this restaurant will soon be pretty full every night! Cheers, and enjoy!

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal in Pepe Rosso! The service was excellent and the food was amazing. All four of us found it fantastic! Our dishes varied from veal to chicken to fish and all were sumptuous. The restaurant is very quaint, set in the Jewish District. It's definetly worth the trek down! Compared to other eateries in Krakow, it's a little more pricey, but it is defintely worth it!
