Bar Barcelona

The classic 'bar mleczny' (milk bar) is fast becoming an endangered species. Much like the British Greasy Spoon, here you can get cheap and tasty food for unbeatable prices. And the 'greasy' part of the equation is certainly not lacking in Poland. Think deep-fried potato pancakes with gulasz sauce. Don't expect a decor that's fit for a king, but all the same, some of the food has won distinguished approval. Celebrity chef Robert Maklowicz (Poland's answer to Rick Stein) swears by their golabki. |
