Farina has a splendid location on a quiet street in Cracow's Old Town. Three elegant rooms, with some marvellous old features, provide a fine setting to enjoy some well-delivered Polish and Italian cuisine. Farina is well known for its fish, but it also offers a range of Polish classics, such as pierogi dumplings (the owners of this restaurant have one prizes for their pierogi in the past) as well as classically prepared soups such as red and white barszcz - you can't leave Poland without trying one (or preferably both) of these dishes!

Great food--terrible service. After our waitress broke my wine glass that was full of wine, I had to pick glass off of the tabled for the rest of dinner. No replacement glass of wine was offered until I asked. Then just house wine to replace a good French. BUT, the fish was great!!

Probably the best restaurant in Krakow. Service is very friendly and helpful and food is just fantastic. Highly recommended.

Me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant in the winter and we were really positively surprised. The service was superb, the food(fish) was excellent and the interior of the place made us feel really welcome. I would definitely come back here and we have already recommended the place to our friends. The waitress rolled out a trolley with all the fish we could choose from the menu and explained about the different kinds!Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful restaurant, also suitable for larger groups. Last week we had a dinner here on a special occassion with a group of 18 people. The staff went really out of their way to accomodate us and to make sure that everything exactly as we wished. Management was very friendly and professional. Farina contributed to a very successful evening. Food was good, fresh, wel cooked and good variety, also of vegetables. Food/price rate was very good. Service was absolutely superb.

Gordon Ramsey would have had a field day with this place as the menu was so large (his pet hate). This of course meant that some of the food must have been pre-frozen and unfortunately our starter was one of these dishes and though tasty was a bit disappointing. I opted for a whole fish for my main course as I was advised that all the filets were pre-frozen, but it arrived overcooked as did my husband's duck breast. The best part was the mushroom pate and bread that was brought out to begin with. This was a disappointing meal as we had been looking forward to it after reading some good reviews. Overall the food was nice but poorly cooked.

Lovely restaurant! We were unsure about whether to go for fish so far from the sea, but friends recommended this one. We weren't disappointed. Delicious....!

The tops! We ate at a few places on the main square, but none to touch the Farina. Nice combines Polish staples with some Med style. Very good indeed, and a fraction of the price that a similar meal would cost back home in London.

was a bit dissappointed at their sister site, farinella - the dish (flavour) was excellent but the tagiatelle was one lump mass on the plate, making it difficult to eat

Nice atmosphere and good food though I can't remember any more what we ate as the menu is not in English on their site. I think it was better anyway one year ago on our first visit... no blins anymore :( Well worth a visit and second best on this trip!

The best meal we had in Krakow! The atmosphere was great, staff very accommodating - although we turned up at closing time, we did not feel rushed and were left to enjoy our wonderful meal in peace. The food was excellent (try the beef carpaccio and the steak) and very good value - I would definitely go back!

Probably the only place in Kraków you can get (a preordered) lobster! Good food, sane prices but marginal service. A lot of the dishes are only avalible thursday-saturday to guarantee freshness. If you need a seafood fix, this is the place to go.

well theres a lesson here to learnt about expectation!! Had high hopes and was sadly left disappointed. Trying too hard with large plates and small confused foods. Poland has some great eateries, who know what they do well by using local produce wisely. Farino could do with taking this on board. sort it out chef!!

Staff very pushy over wine list & menu. Delivered wrong starter & then tried to get us to change our choice to accomodate their mistake! Lasagne was awful & manager very rude when commented on it. Very pretentious & trying to be three classes above themselves! Avoid!

A nice restaurant with good service and selection.Seemed to empty quickly for a Saturday night at half ten though. Nice seafood pasta.

Farina was excellent. First class food (the beef carpacio melted in my mouth) really friendly staff, a good atmosphere and (by UK standards anyway) great value. Definitely worth a visit.

The staff is very friendly and eager to please. The food is very good - I had seafood for both the starter and the main course and the sea bass was simply divine. My husband and I had a very enjoyable evening there and would definitelz recommend it.

Although we had a guide to our preferred restaurants, we spotted this place when walking to the Magnolia Bar the night before. Very pleasant interior, friendly staff and brilliant food at not over the top prices. If you are thinking of ordering grilled vegetables for a starter there is well enough for two. Dumplings delicious, fillet steak to die for, pasta just the ticket but sole with shrimps just a little on the dry side. Try the Creme Brulee.

I have twice dined at the Farina, and it is one of the best restaurants I know in Poland (where I have worked and travelled regularly). Readers might be interested to know that the latest issue of 'hidden europe' magazine (July 2005) (www.hiddeneurope.co.uk) has a very positive comment on this restaurant.
