People are often a little stumped as to where to go for a bite to eat in Kazimierz, although this situation is now beginning to change. San Sebastian offers a congenial atmosphere in which to enjoy a tasty breakfast or a light lunch. It's spread across three spacious rooms, and decked out in a nostalgic way, with an eye towards the world of pre-war Poland. Their fresh salads are a popular choice, and there's also a large range of wines to choose from. In summer the garden is another welcome bonus.

San Sebastian Restaurant

Myself and some work friends visited last Saturday night. We got there just after 8pm. It took ages for our order to be taken and then up to 4 hours for the main course to arrive. Two of my friends did not even receive their meal! Worst restaurant I have ever been in....no exception.

We visited Krakow in 2006 and found the san sebastian the first night we were there -- it was located right around the corner from our apartment. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good and very reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. All in all it was a great place for us to fall into after a long day of touring. Dined there 5 nights out of the 8 that we were there.

We liked this place a lot, not only to eat but also as a bar to return to at night and have a quiet beer/vodka in front of their log stove. All staff were freindly with excellent english.

Decent, very affordable dining. Went their for lunch yesterday, while the soup was very good (if a little watery) the chicken ciabata was surprisingly short on the chicken.

An excellent restaurant. The most tender pork I have ever tasted. They have a new chef who does wonders. Very reasonable and also friendly English speaking staff

I had my birthday meal here 10 days ago. We had a table for 7 people, we were well looked after. The food was excellent and everything tasted very fresh. As an example, my starter was layers of sliced tomatoes and sliced mozzarella; absolutely delicious. This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, they could probably charge 3 times as much as they did and it would still seem reasonable.

We arrived, all 11 of us in from the freezing cold, where we were immediately greeted by a very friendly staff. We were looked after by a lovely, charming and very efficient waitress called Agatha who was just starting her first night, that night. The food was excellent and the wine was fantastic too. Although we drank nealry all the wine in the restaurant Agatha was there to assist in providing a lovely alternative. When we go back to Cracow we will definitley be visiting San Sebastian again. Thanks!

I spent a highly enjoyable evening in this restaurant and I must say I couldn't disagree more with the last reviewer. I had brocolli soup as a starter, then followed with beef with red onion and potatoes, all delicious and comparable or better than anything else I had on the main square, during my stay in Krakow. The staff were friendly and helpful in guiding us to our next hot wine in the Jewish Quarter. My wife loved the cosy warm atmosphere, perfect for the Polish winter!

A major disappointment of my last weekend in Krakow. If you make your restaurant look stylish and manage to put together a regular collection of old irons and samovars, you don't have to worry about the food. We kinda liked the place until we actually tried out meal. Steamed vegetables from the cheap frozen packs, nasty souce (vinegar and majonnaise mixture) and a stake that one could chew forever with a more than modest portion of baked potatoes - A MEAL FOR TWO which costed more than 70 ZL. I was misguided by the previous reviews. Avoid this place.

My daughter and I discovered this little Gem last winter on a weekend break and ate there each day.We visited again at the beginning of this month, with my son and sister, who were as impressed as us!The decor, service and of course the food is superb....the salmon in orange-lemon butter sauce is to die for!

We were wandering around Krakow for over an hour looking for a place that would serve us some breakfast (we woke up really early that day, so it's partly our own fault!) And we just happened to run across this place, it's so good!! We had to order a second round because the food was so delicious! Don't know about lunch or dinner, but the breakfast was great and the people were very nice.
