*Bodega has now closed, but we're keeping this page up as a tribute!*

Tapas, and indeed Spanish food in general, are treats that are decidedly lacking in Cracow's restaurant scene. And now the winebar, which boasts approximately 400 wines to choose from, offers an impressive international menu as well. However, Bodega Marques may be just the ticket if you're in the mood for a glass or two of fine wine and a few rounds of tapas or a full meal - always a congenial way to kick off an evening or take a break for lunch. And you can rest assured that the goodly owner of Marques has scoured the world looking for excellent wines to enjoy - here you can delve into varieties from France, Italy, Spain and the New World. Bodega Marques also organizes private functions and wine and food tastings, as well as screenings of sports events. Tip-top.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!
This restaurant looked very inviting from outside and generally a good easy range of food on the menu. I ordered tagliatelle with beef in cream sauce which was ok, but my partner ordered lasagne which was frozen in the middle. We sent it back only to receive another cold lasagne, at this point we changed our order to another tagliatelle which was ok, but after all this messing around you don't feel like eating much! The service is lousy, they bearly understand what you are saying and they brought out the side dish when we had finished and were about to pay.
Needless to say I wasn't prepared to pay for the whole meal as it was such a bad experience, I complained to the management who basically said you pay for what you choose or we call the police. I think the police would have better things to do than deal with an argument over a plate of pasta! I paid to avoid a scene, but personally I would avoid this restaurant like the plague, there attitude stinks!
During this I also noticed another couple complaining about their food.

I am in 2 minds about this place the plus side being that the Wine is good and the place has a nice atmosphere. The bad things about this place are firstly the tapas I/m not sure the owner has ever been to Spain, Nothing authentically Spanish just Olives! Secondly I bought a bottle of 100 zloty wine by far one of the cheaper bottles on the list. So when I went to pay with my AMEX card they told me I could not use this 1, The reason obviously being that the Owner wants to save himself 5zloty extra charges! which is really tight when u consider that the kind of people who order his more expensive bottles will have more exclusive cards. Lastly my wine glass was dirty so i sent it back. Its a good idea, but they need to visit a city like Sevilla to learn what Tapas is. I will go back there 2 drink wine again but will avoid the food out of principle.

Very nice little wine bar (and wine store.) The funniest thing they note on the menu is their mission to introduce wine to the Polish people as Poles are not big wine drinkers! They have a nice selection of wines by the taste and glass. We enjoyed glasses of reasonably priced Spanish and Italian wine along with tasty appetizer foods.
