Noworolski Kawiarnia

This classic Krakovian venue on the East side of the Sukiennice building was a favourite with the city's chattering classes a hundred years ago. The elegant art nouveau decor conjures a vanished world as you recline on your curved-back sofa and beckon the elegantly-attired waiter over. Noworolski is particular famous for its coffee and cakes but for our money it's the splendid view from the terrace of the Main Square and St. Mary's Basilica that makes this an essential Krakow experience!

The waiters were really nice, but the toilets were horrible and some things in the menue for example the ice cream tub named "Bacio" couldn't be eaten. So watch out what you order, maybe it sounds good but you don't know how it tastes. Another bad thing was that they have only a 0,2l-Coke, there's no bigger one. Of caurse it's a bit expensive there, but at a place like this it can't be other way. So have fun in Kraków :) really nice town

This one seems to have closed temporarily whilst they finish off renovating the Cloth Hall.

Definitely one of Krakow's time-warp venues. Interesting throwback to Habsburg era times. The place to take your grandma for tea...

Interesting old decor inside, but the weather was so good we spent most of the time under a parasol. Perfect place to watch the world go by...

Didn't know about Lenin. V. Interesting. But the view is unbeatable. Worth the extra zloty in my opinion

Noworolski regardless of coffee and cakes is a most unusual place that few people are aware of. When Lenin was exiled from Russia at the start of WWI he ended up in Krakow and held court at the Noworolski plotting the Bolshevik Revolution. He received couriers from Russia who received instructions how to proceed with the revolution. One of the couriers was none other than young Stalin then known as Josip Vissarionovich.

This place suffered more than a bit over the last two years thanks to the fact they were digging up half the Rynek right outside their front door. It looks like they've almost finished (finally) the renovations, so maybe we'll be able to enjoy this traditional Krakow cafe once more as it should be
