There's no logical reason that we can think of why putting a bar upstairs on the first floor should make it cool. And yet make it cool it most certainly does, as this natty little number proves. Of course there's the funky art work, superb lay-out and streetwise crowd, but they would just look out of place on the obvious and frankly boring plane of street level. Added cool factor aside, it makes a nice change to be relaxing with a beer upstairs in a town that seems to determined to do most of its drinking underground. The prodigious amount of time spent queuing for the shared-sex toilets can be either a pro or a con...depending who you meet in the line.

Still going strong - a perennial of the Krakow scene that gets better with age - unlike most bars....

We were tipped off about this - never would have found it otherwise. Seemed like a very hip place - rather long queue for the bathroom but otherwise great!

Love this gaff. Hidden away just enough for minimal tourist (read: stag parties) bother. Agree that the queue for the khazis can be bothersome, but the overall aura of the place means you forget about that very quickly. One of my fav bars in Krakow.

now they've opened a klub pauza, but it isn't the same. The original still has us coming back - even if you can hardly breathe through the smoke

hard to find but well worth finding (as are most good things, right?). they now have a garden in the courtyard on the ground floor, but the first floor is still where the action is, as well as the excellent photography exhibitions that are always showing there. pauza is one of the great drinking and cultural institutions of krakow!

This a very low key chill spot, great for winding down. Ambient music coupled with their well lit lounges make for excellent relaxing. Very hidden location.
