Cafe Pod Baszta

|
The Wawel citadel is not exactly overflowing with cafes and restaurants, and it's a wonder that no one has opened a new one for over a decade now. Well finally there is a cafe that doesn't feel stuck in the 70's, and here you can enjoy a coffee and a snack in light contemporary surroundings, or better still, grab a table outside and soak up the prospect of Wawel Castle. Unless you are dressed as an Arctic adventurer, this option will have to be abandoned when winter falls, but this cafe is still the best of the bunch for places to drink on Wawel Hill. And of course you'll need a fortifying drink before going off to do battle with the dragon in the caves below. |

cafe pod baszta or 'cafe under the tower' in English is a decent place actually. Obviously a bit touristy but has character and you won't regret stopping for a bite here if you're at the Wawel
