Srodziemie (Middle Earth)

A comparatively new addition to the Cracow scene, fans of Tolkien and the world of fantasy should find plenty to enjoy in this cellar pub, but it's not only for Dungeons and Dragons types - this is one of those themed pubs that actually works. It's part of the magic of Cracow that you can cover the walls with mock-Celtic artwork, call your drinks things like the Frodo Cocktail, Arwen's Kiss, Bilbo Baggins or Tom Bombadil and not only get away with it, but actually make something truly memorable. Plus in Summer you can smoke your pipe, hobbit-style, in the garden, whilst inside football matches are now screened regularly. |

The organisers of this year's Krakow Film Festival have already received more than 2,000 submissions from directors keen to make their name ...

Very disappointing. The idea has a lot of potential, but it's not being explored. There is very little of Middle Earth in the place apart from the cocktails! Speaking of which, my girlfriend had to tell the barman how to mix the ones we ordered! And, to add injury to insult, she ruined a new pair of tights on a rustic metal chair! Very few people in the place on a Saturday night, which kind of says a lot. And the too loud music at the top of the stairs (which isn't loud down inside) could send lots of folks elsewhere.
