Jama Michalika

|
The wild air of the Belle Epoque may have long since passed, but Jama Michalika remains a treasure like few others. 'Michalik's Den' was a favoured haunt of artists and their girlfriends, and tales of mischief and mayhem abound. These days it's a decidedly more genteel affair, but the decor sings of that fantastically flamboyant past. You could spend a whole lifetime getting to know all the eccentric art on display - the interior has hardly changed in a hundred years. Besides teas, coffees and cakes, visitors can also order up more substantial Polish fare. There is a no smoking policy in the historic rooms. |

Amazing place! Seemed almost empty when we were here, but truly remarkable atmosphere. The city could well do more to promote this place but, well, maybe it is better that they don't....
