Philo

Excellent and smart new cafe on the quiet Ulica Tomasza, Philo is a comfortable, quiet and cosy place to enjoy a good cup of Lavazza or other coffees (especially with cream), and also a wide range of snacks and meals and other hot and cold drinks. Soothing music, comfy sofas and low-key lighting make Philo a rather laid-back but intimate place, which looks promising. Philo also offers outside catering, and might be a good bet if you want to order up a whole lot of packed meals for a group of visitors. The cafe, which is open from 10 am until 1 in the morning Sunday to Wednesday, and until 3 in the morning on Thursday to Saturday, is also air-conditioned.

It's hard to imagine the "philosophical cafe" without the gangs of smokers. Am curious to see if places like this are affected by the ban that seems about to strike...

No matter how many cafes become 'discovered' in Krakow by tourists there will always be a tonne that aren't - Philo is just one more (smoky) gem to check out and act cool in
