Irish Pub email

Irish Pub website

This Irish pub has it all - from the draught Guinness and Kilkenny you'd normally expect - in fact, in 2007, they were awarded first place for quality in Poland's Guinness competition (which means they have the best Guinness in Poland!) - to all the traditional knick-knacks and old Irish memorabilia that have somehow made it all the way to Cracow from the Emerald Isle. There's a big screen television and several plasmas for football matches, but it hasn't yet become a favourite haunt of the expat crowd - not necessarily a bad thing. Irish Pub Pod Papugami also retains a lot of the charm of normal Polish pubs, offering local beers, as well as popular cakes such as apple pie and cheesecake. There's also a pool table in the basement. Open from noon until 3 in the morning, tables can be reserved in advance.

Last weekend it was about minus 20c, with thick snow on the ground. We did the usual sights and then the cold got the better of us and we retreated to this pub for the remainder of our trip. We could not have been made more welcome.

This must be the best Irish pub in Krakow, without doubt.
Me and my friends have made many good memories of this pub and from people who work there. I will really miss the people and the atmosphere at the Irish pub. :-)

The bar is nice, very good music, good beer, good atmosphere. Unfortunately one of the staff members (big, beer belly and almost bald) was very unfriendly.

This is down stairs and it was quite dark. Once you get used to that - it is ok for a drink and play pool - sports are generally played on the TV.

We had such a good time the first night we came here, we came back on the second! Very small bar area so you may have to wait a while to be servd.

reviewed by Izzy from United Kingdom on Apr.19.2005

Tom keeps an eye on all guests and looks after everyone very well. The wait staff were extremely attentive and very sweet. We had a great time here as part of a short visit to a beautiful city in which we didn't know much (any?) of the local language.
