Massolit website

Exiled writers mourned the fall of the cultured cafes of Mitteleuropa. But those beleaguered scribes would have been heartily pleased by this place. Massolit is the diametric opposite of the grab-and-run pit stops of today's world. A cafe and bookshop rolled into one, it's a charming eccentric that deserves a medal for services to humanity. Besides cakes, coffee and Twinings tea by appointment to her Madge the Queen, Massolit stocks all the press that a cultured cat could hope for. If that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, there are enough English books to build a bridge to Bali. A fine place to spark up a conversation with locals or fellow travellers.

Dropped in here and found they'd expanded the premises. The cafe has stretched into a second big room.Great news for Massolit lovers like myself!

We were tipped off about this one and we were very impressed. Lovely little cafe and a much better bookshop than our locals in the UK!
