The Stained Glass Museum

|
If you were bowled over by the radical stained glass windows in the Franciscan Church, you may be intrigued by this little museum. It's based in the legendary Zelenski workshop west of the Old Town. About 70% of Poland's stained glass windows were created by this company, which was a key force in the flowering of Poland's Art Nouveau movement (Mloda Polska). At present, there's not a huge amount to see here in terms of exhibits themselves, but the company are working on expanding the museum. However, if you're lucky you might catch the artists themselves working on a project. The workshop itself is a rather glorious relic in itself, and today it's back under inspired leadership after the wilderness of the communist era. |
