Slaskie Museum

|
Serious culture vultures who are keen to leave no stone unturned will be intrigued by this museum in the neighbouring city of Katowice. It's an hour and a half journey by car from Cracow. However, the route is very well serviced by trains too. This is the main museum of the Silesian region, and it boasts some fine collections. It's main attraction is a gallery of Polish painting that covers the years 1800-1939, and all the big names are represented, from Michalowski to Wyspianski to Hasior. Sections on Ethnography and Archaeology can also be explored, but it's the paintings that steal the show. |
