Groteska

|
Every Summer Groteska takes to the streets of Cracow and performs lively versions of Polish legends and fairy tales. Fantastical costumes and masks are the order of the day and speech is minimalized, making performances accessible to foreigners and young children alike. Hits have included such plays as 'The Princes in the Tower and the Two Knights' and the gloriously titled 'We're all of the the same Cabbage'. The theatre also stages 3 or four premieres each year at their base on Skarbowa street (home to the theatre since its inauguration in 1945). There are also excursions into experimental theatre that are more aimed at an adult audience. |
