This distinguished enterprise is dedicated to the legacy of Tadeusz Kantor, one of the brightest stars in Poland's avant-garde galaxy. Kantor revolutionised the world of drama with his independent Cricot 2 theatre, drawing disciples from across the globe (no mean feat during the stringent communist era). Cricoteka itself got underway in Kantor's own lifetime. The aim was to preserve the ideas of Cricot 2, yet not in a dead librarian system but in the minds and imagination of the coming generations. The enterprise is still involved in the staging of Kantor's works, and they own a wealth of material from the hands of the genius himself. Kantor's work as both an artist and a stage-designer are well-documented. Plans are now well advanced for a major new seat in the Podgorze district.
