Oskar Schindler's Factory website

When Krakow's Podgorze district became the site of the Jewish Ghetto for Krakow's huge Jewish population, many Germans set up businesses in the area in an attempt to profit from the Nazi invasion of Poland. Oskar Schindler was such a man, but in the end he came to save the lives of over 1,100 Jews that worked in his factory, often at great risk to his own life and at personal expense. A state of the art permanent exhibition chronicling the Nazi Occupation is due to open in June 2010.

Visited this factory on 05 Nov 2011, it was outstanding. however getting there looks dodgy going via the underpass at the railway, seems a hang out for gangs. When we came out it was dark not a nice area to be in... plan ahead

Went to see this on the Saturday 5th October, it was a
pity that the film never told you the amount of Jews that Oskar Schindler saved, and he died with not a penny to his name

Superb museum. One of the best. Very memorable.

Informative, but only on the side of Polish anti-Jew propaganda. The tour guide spoke of how Schindler's story was completely exaggerated and that he in fact wasn't that great of a man. The tour guide was nasty, yelled at us constantly, and tried to get into arguments with everyone in our group. The tour ended with a white book listing heroes of the holocaust and a black book listing informers. The first person in the black book was a Jew.

Visited the factory turned museum today in Krakow. Amazing experience, definitely make a visit if you're in the area. Oskar Schindler - what can i say? What an inspiration for all of us, the work of this amazing man is documented in a visual, interactive way that makes it interesting for any one of any age (even my 80 year old grandmother!) to enjoy themselves and take in the information all around you. Great stuff!

do bear in mind that they are shut on the first monday in every month!

the website and the front desk are not that helpful as to admission and pre-booking. so think ahead is my tip!

The Nazi-occupation was almost a total conrol over the Pollacks, even though not as perfect control as it was after the Soviets' invasion. It was amazing to see the movies of the last peaceful days of Cracow as well as the idyllic life of Kazimierz Jews in the Christians' town during the 1930s up to 1. Sep. 1939. We liked the museum and felt sympathy over both the victims of the Christians and Jews.

First visited in 2006. Only Oscars office was open to see.Went back Sept 2010.We were utterly amazed at what we saw.The detail and information opened our eyes to how life was for the jews. A truly amazing and brave man. RIP.

Really well worth visiting, but make sure to give yourself plenty of time. We were here yesterday for nearly 3 hours, and still did not see it all properly, and had no time at all for the Museum of Modern Art next door.

My husband and I went to see the factory some 4 years ago - it was very run down and we couldn't go in. I gather that it now is made into a proper museum?

After visiting many city's over the years, Krakow has turned out the BEST,why because of Oscar Schindler, his factory and museum which is unmissable. After viiting the Jewish Ghetto area we saw signs for Schindlers factory and decided to viit,we could not believe how fantastic it was which made us book extra trips to Auschwitz and Bickenou which was very sad and gave us a very different view on life.

This museum is a must when visiting Cracow. I was really impressed how it has been prepared and how each detail caught my attention. Definitely worth paying for the ticket and waiting in the queue.

just back from krakow, 3/9/10 schindlers factory in full operation, at my 3rd time of asking, well worth the wait and a must to see, takes you from 1939-1945, theyve even built the ghetto wall inside, a real eyeopener, but what a fantastic display

Oskar Schindler is a wonderful person. I went to Krakow, Poland in 2006. And Bartek Nowak gave me a tour of the factory. I told him his idea of a novelty shop will earn a modest amount of money. I was moved by oskar schindler enough to change my career from science to manufacture. I was heartbroken by the death of Polands president last year. The schindler jews worked their way out to stay alive. Remember this; never forget the holocaust and never forgive the holocaust.

i think oskar schindler is awesome. just think how many people wouldn't be here today if he hadn't attempted to save all of the people that he saved.

Well, I'm just another student doing a report but I think Oskar Schindler was one amazing guy. I really wish I knew the reasons for what he did, but I guess we'll never know.

It still doesn't make me any less awed or grateful of and to him.
